LETS GET WEIRD!!! HALLOWEEN 2012 presented by NOX ILLUSIO, SUPERFREQ and SHITS & GIGGLES.

Benoit & Sergio don’t make dance tracks—they tell stories. In the Washington, DC duo’s music, a sense of place and narrative infuse their rhythms and melodies, transcending the confines of “tech-house” or “electronic pop” and entering a genre-free realm of cinematic imagery and visceral pleasures. Benoit & Sergio draw from influences mostly uncommon to the house-and-techno zeitgeist—bands like Talking Heads, Pavement, Roxy Music, Paul Simon—while keeping an ear towards electronic-music contemporaries like Isolee, Thomas Melchior, and Ricardo Villalobos. The resulting tracks pulse with hooks and atmosphere, proudly flying their creators’ freak flag while giving listeners a little something extra to dance about.

San Francisco producer Derrick Boyd, aka Dead Seal, now TONE OF ARC, a duo/band production with partner/vocalist Zoe Presnick have been making music for most of their lives. Two of those special individuals possessed with a wide range of musical expression, bringing a glimpse of real musicality to the underground tech house and indie house scene. They sing, play guitar, bass, and keys, and all this live too. Tone Of Arc’s powerful stage presence drawn from old school cats like Iggy Pop, The Clash, and Bowie helps to partially define the originality of his music. Boyd has been a recording junkie since his teens. Boyd has created a volume of more than a two hundred songs and tracks which he jokingly refers to as his “Dead Seal Scrolls”. In the midst of all their activity, a debut full length album on the ever expanding inspirational house record label No.19 owned by Nitin and Jonny White of Art Department is due at the end of summer in 2012 with 3 Ep’s to be released before so marking a long and anticipated wait of 2 years dedication to execute a perfect album release. Come short they have not and their live set completes the experience %110.

[a]pendics.shuffle is a man of many personas. Keeping up with him can be a time consuming, yet rewarding venture into sound. As soon as you think you know him and can grasp whats going on, he puts on yet another mask and becomes something else. Always a surprise and never a let down, he gives us what we want but dont expect. A rare stone in todays musical climate, Ken is rolling and collects no moss. Kens first recordings were as the guitarist, singer, part time keyboardist and producer of the 90s indie rock band Furry Things. He slowly grew tired of being in a band and started producing a slew of electronic mish mash on his own as Eight Frozen Modules. Starting out with a guitar, half broken sampler (given to him by King Coffee of the legendary Texas band The Butthole Surfers), a drum machine, borrowed synths and a four track, Ken laid down an off kilter mix of electro, abstract hip hop, dub and techno.

MIKAEL STRAVOSTRAND has been lauded as a important figure of the Swedish electronic music scene for his unique interpretations of minimal club techno as well as for producing some of the most essential experimental electronic music of the past years. Stavöstrand mixes deconstructed sounds with funky little beats to create minimal dance textures. On his debut album on Force Inc., “Reduce”, swarms of glitches, crackles and skips infiltrate the 4/4 drive formula of minimal techno. As Vita, his “Vita” 12″ on Force Inc. imprint Force Labs was welcomed by critical praise and became one of the best selling releases with its digitalized organic groove.

He started to produce music in the early nineties, but back then he was a part of the industrial scene and released some now labeled as “classic” records under different names. Lately due to a lot of demand from different labels, he agreed to allow reissues of these early works.
